P.A. stands for Public Address (not "Public Audio"). A P.A. system is an audio amplification system used to broadcast sound to a large audience in public spaces, such as sports stadium, train station, school, concert, and shopping mall.

Music

Country Roads is played over P.A. systems and sung along to all over the world in sports stadiums, as a theme song before and after games. The song is considered a symbol of West Virginia. In Marth 2014, it became one of the four official state anthems of West Virginia.¹
